Super Sorting

These super sorters have used the tweezers to sort the animals.  Can you think of another way to sort these animals?

These clever children also used the camera by themselves to take these pictures.

Easter in October ????

We have been busy making bunny ears for an exciting new calendar that the Friends of Fieldhead are putting together.  You will have to buy the calendar to see all the cute bunnies.

A new teacher in Year 1

Look who's been reading a story to the class.  I am so proud of this student's super reading and the class loved the story.

Using a bucket balance

Look at our great maths work.  We have been learning to measure how heavy objects are using a bucket balance and cubes.  The children have been trying to accurately estimate how many cubes would be needed to balance each object.

Which is heaviest?

Have you got the buckets to balance?

The picture frame feels heavier than the red tub.

Counting in the cubes carefully.

Recording our work.

Victorian children

In readiness for our Victorian school day next week in History we have been looking at the lives of rich and poor Victorian children.  Here the children are reading statements and deciding if they describe a rich or poor Victorian child.

If you want to find our more about Victorian life have a look at this website with a grown up.

Exploring colour

Last week as part of our Design and Technology work and out Art work Year 1 explored colour by making a colour catcher and creating shade sheets.  Have a look at our fantastic work.

Lots of concentration during the cutting out.

Lots of clour on this colour catcher - some are natural colours
and others are man made.

We were creating 6 different shades of the same colour by
adding white gradually.

A doctor in the house!

Spotted in the Baby clinic,  a  Doctor helping to find out what is wrong with one of our babies.  I wonder if he wrote a perscription???
