Data handling

This week we have been finding ways to show information. We asked each other what our favourite pet was and put this data onto a tally chart. We then showed this data on a bar chart.

It was quite tricky making sure we added the correct information in the correct space.

Here are some photographs of children finding information and making their bar chart.

Here is a game we played too.

This week we have been learning how to use the digital camera.
We had to follow instructions and listen carefully.
We had to remember to put the strap around our wrist at all times.
We found out about the lens, the view finder, the flash and how to put the photographs onto the classroom computer.
Here are some of the children using the camera.

Sliding the lens cover open

Looking at the buttons

Trying to fit it in the screen

Taking a photo of the display

Connecting the camera to the computer

Here are a few of the photographs from this week.

Measuring in maths

This week we have been learning about measuring. We have measured with paper clip, measured with a ruler and found out the answer to the question, "Is the tallest child the oldest child?"

Have a look at our photographs and post if you enjoyed the activities.

Learning Log homework - Tell me about special days and celebrations

We have a Mad Hatter's Tea Party as our new role play area. Dressing up in different clothes is lots of fun. For your learning log homework can you show me how you celebrate different events with your family?

You could draw a picture of a party you have been to.
Write a list of all the party food you enjoy eating.
Design some clothes for a special celebration.

I look forward to seeing your learning logs next Wednesday.
