Sum dog instructions

Today Miss Morris launched Sumdog which is a new maths application.  It is a series of free maths games that are designed to improve mental math fluency.  Most of the games are multiplayer, letting students around the world practice their math against one another.

I have sent home a letter explaining how to change the difficulty levels of sundog games so that your children can get the most from playing.  The following is an extract from that letter to help you remember how to change the settings.

  1. Under the blue training tab on the left hand side of the screen select the blue hyperlink “show levels”
  2. Your child is currently working in level 1 and/or 2.
  3. Click on the blue hyper link “select skill”.  A drop down box will appear stating the learning objectives that can be covered.  You can select individual learning objectives by clicking on the green tick or you can leave them all ticked.
  4. Once you have put a tick next to all objectives that you want to get your child to work on you can select a game to play by moving to the green tab on the right hand side of the screen.  You can scroll through the games using the left and right white arrows or select the blue hyperlink “show all games”
You can find sumdog on the front page of the school website or by clicking on the link below.

Your child will need their unique log on which will be sent home on Tuesday 11 December.

Remember to let me know how you get on and what ganes you enjoy the most.
